Four members of 'Kishore Gang' arrested for posting videos of weapons training on Facebook

Police have arrested four members of the teenage gang 'LTD Boys Group' in the capital's Mohammadpur.

In a special operation conducted in the Mohammadpur area of the capital, RAB-2 has arrested four active members of the notorious teenage gang known as the 'Kishore Gang LTD Boys.' The elite force recovered a locally-made Samurai-style weapon and two mobile phones during the raid.

RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media), Khan Asif, confirmed the arrests on Sunday.

The detained individuals have been identified as Tarequl Islam Tuhin (19), Emon (20), Fazle Rabbi (19), and Md. Roman (20).

According to RAB-2, the LTD Boys Group has recently started operating in the Mohammadpur area. The average age of the members of this group is 18 to 20 years. They forcefully take money, mobile phones, and important items from the common people by threatening them with sharp weapons during the day and night. Apart from this, they are also involved in land grabbing and area-based fights. The members of this group used to share various videos of armed robbery and training on social media to spread fear among the people.

RAB-2, in a press release, stated that several robbery gangs have recently been linked to criminal and terrorist activities in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area. RAB responded by intensifying patrols and intelligence surveillance.

On July 19, RAB acted upon a tip-off and received information about a planned armed robbery in the Mohammadiya Housing area. A swift special operation was launched, leading to the arrest of four suspects.

During preliminary questioning, the detainees confessed to being active members of the notorious ‘Kishore Gang LTD Boys’ group. They have since been handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station for legal proceedings. 

When asked, RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Khan Asif told Prothom Alo, LTD Boys Group is an emerging teenage gang group. Their activities have started in the Mohammadpur area. They used to spread various videos of armed robbery and training on social media. According to information from RAB's cyber team, they were arrested in a raid. However, the group's leader, Rana, has fled. The operation to catch him is ongoing.
